Brooklyn, NY — Heritage Lodge No. 371 F. & A.M. is proud to announce the recipients of its 2024 Camp Turk Summer Scholarship. This year's scholarship has been awarded to two local Brooklyn youth, daughters of our esteemed member, Bro. Brian J. Madden.
The recipients, sisters Simona and Leah Madden, have been recognized for their exceptional academic achievements and commitment to community service. The scholarship will enable them to attend Camp Turk, a renowned summer camp offering a range of recreational and educational activities designed to enhance personal growth and development.
"We are honored to support Simona and Leah in their summer journey," said Nasser L. Sutherland the Worshipful Master of Heritage Lodge No. 371. "Their dedication to excellence in both academics and community involvement exemplifies the values we uphold at the lodge. We are excited to see them flourish and make lasting memories at Camp Turk."
Simona N. Madden, a 16-year-old 11th grader at Fort Hamilton High School, and Leah N. Madden, a 14-year-old 8th grader at Bay Ridge Catholic Academy, are the daughters of Brother Brian J. Madden. The campers will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of recreational and educational activities. The camp is known for fostering personal growth and leadership skills, as well as providing a fun and supportive environment for youth.
The scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition, allowing the Madden sisters to experience all the enriching activities Camp Turk has to offer. The camp provides an environment where young people can explore new interests, develop leadership skills, and form lasting friendships.
Bro. Brian J. Madden of Joshua Lodge #890 and Norseman Lodge #878 expressed his gratitude to Heritage Lodge for supporting his daughters' summer camp experience. "I am deeply thankful to Heritage Lodge No. 371 F. & A.M. for this opportunity for Simona and Leah.
