Masonic Con - Freemasonry in the 21st Century: Self and Society,
Jan 17, 2025 - 2:30 pm - 1:00 pm
Masonic Hall, New York City

My Brothers,

Please accept my personal invitation to attend the inaugural Masonic Con New York on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18. Our theme is Freemasonry in the 21st Century: Self and Society, and will showcase experts discussing the urgency of Masonic teachings and the importance of Brotherhood in our lives and communities. This special event will be held in our iconic Grand Lodge building in the heart of New York City.

Our special weekend will begin that Friday evening with the famous Mariners Lodge 67 Maritime Festive Board and Beefsteak Banquet in the Grand Lodge Room at 6 p.m. If you have yet to experience it, prepare to be amazed. On Saturday, the speakers program, open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. Keynote speaker Maj. Gen. William Green, Jr., the U.S. Army’s Chief of Chaplains, will address America’s loneliness epidemic and man’s need for fraternal connections in life.

Featured Speakers:

• Dr. Heather Calloway is Executive Director of Indiana University’s Center for Fraternal Collections and Research. She will discuss the cultural relevance of fraternal orders in America.

• Bro. Chuck Dunning is a nationally renowned author and educator on the subject of meditation and mindfulness techniques, and he will impart ways Masons and our lodges may profit from these practices.

• Bro. Bull Garlington is the Illinois Mason famous for his journalistic essays on how he overcame loneliness in adulthood by discovering Freemasonry.

• Bro. Michael LaRocco, of course, is Executive Director of our Livingston Library, and also an experienced practitioner of the craft of self-actualization, and he’ll teach us how.

• Bro. Jim Loporto will close the speakers program with his talk “The Elephant in the Room.” This performance is open only to regular Freemasons—and I especially encourage our Apprentices, Fellows, and new Master Masons to experience it.

Plus we’ll offer tours of Masonic Hall and the Livingston Library, vendors, and plenty of networking opportunities.

We will close Masonic Con with a special cocktail reception, where attendees can mingle with our guest speakers and the Grand Line while also supporting the Brotherhood Fund’s 1781 Society. I look forward to greeting you and sharing a toast to Brotherhood!

With kind brotherly love, I remain,

Steven Adam Rubin
