Dear Brethren, Sisters and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Right Worthy Sister Sonja Juers, a long-time member of Minnehaha Chapter No. 227 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Sister Sonja is the beloved wife of the late R.W. Louis Juers, Past Grand Treasurer of the Grand Lodge of New York. Sister Sonja passed on to the celestial Chapter above on December 28, 2024 after a prolonged illness. 

Sister Sonja's family in concert with the Brother Masons and Eastern Star Sisters of the Bronx District and the District Deputy Grand Master R.W. Frank Mercado, will conduct a Memorial Service for RW Sister Sonja Juers on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the City Island Masonic Temple located on the corner of "Free Mason Way" (Schofield Street & City Island Avenue), 241 City Island Avenue, Bronx, NY 10464.

The Sisters and Brothers of Minnehaha Chapter No. 227, O.E.S., will hold an Eastern Star Memorial Service commencing at 2:00 PM sharp. 

Light refreshments will be made available after the service for the attendees. Please keep in mind that the City Island Masonic Temple can only accommodate up to 90 people and parking is limited to street availability.

Although today our fraternal chain on earth has been broken, yet as promised by the Holy Scriptures our beloved sister has entered into the celestial garden with eternal life. All of her good deeds of kindness and charity shall follow Thy beloved servant, who will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Amen.
