History
Dunwoodie Masonic Lodge was founded on June 3rd, 1908
Yonkers was home to a number of Masonic lodges, numbering at least five in the 1950s. The Masonic Temple, where mason lodges throughout the city of Yonkers held their meetings and conferral of degrees, was built in 1917 and located at 130 S. Broadway in Yonkers. Previously, lodges had met at the Hollywood Inn and the Yonkers Savings Bank building. No longer used by the masons, the building was purchased by St. Joseph Catholic Medical Center. It was scheduled to be demolished in 2008 but still stands as of this writing.
