Ashlar Lodge’s “Good Sunday Morning Breakfast Buffet” Honors Battenkill Community Services

There was a time when Sunday mornings meant gathering with neighbors, sharing a meal, and catching up on the news of the week. It used to be that community wasn’t just where we lived—it was who we were. That spirit is alive and well at Ashlar Lodge’s “Good Sunday Morning Breakfast Buffet” on March 2, 2025, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Greenwich Masonic Temple (2543 NY-40, Greenwich, NY). More than just a meal, this event is a chance to reconnect, share stories, and honor those who make our community stronger.

At 9 a.m., Ashlar Lodge will recognize Battenkill Community Services for their tireless dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities. “I remember when every neighbor looked out for one another,” said Harry Booth, Master of Ashlar Lodge. “That’s exactly what Battenkill Community Services does. They make sure everyone has a place in our community, and we’re honored to celebrate their work.”

For a suggested donation of $12 for adults and $6 for veterans and children under 12, guests will enjoy a farm-fresh buffet featuring Thomas Poultry Farm scrambled eggs, golden waffles, Ruts Ridge maple sausage and smoked bacon, herb-seasoned home fries, and fresh fruit. It’s the kind of breakfast that used to be made from scratch in farm kitchens all across Washington County—simple, hearty, and shared with friends.

The event is handicap accessible, family-friendly, and offers ample parking, with take-out meals available.

A Tradition of Service and Community

For nearly 200 years, Ashlar Lodge #584 has been a cornerstone of Greenwich, committed to service, tradition, and bringing people together. Their “Good Sunday Morning Breakfast Buffet” carries on the tradition of neighborly gatherings and supporting those who serve the greater good.

Battenkill Community Services exemplifies that same commitment, helping individuals with disabilities lead fulfilling, independent lives through programs like the “Without Walls” Group Day Habilitation Program.

“I remember when Sunday mornings were for slowing down, seeing friends, and being grateful,” Booth reflected. “This is our way of keeping that tradition alive.”
