Cazenovia Lodge entered the Chilly Chili contest. It is hosted by the community during a fun run. This was the first year the Lodge entered the contest. Brothers, While cleaning DeRuyter Lodge out, a secret chili recipe named “Masonic Mayhem” was discovered in a secret vault hidden in a lockbox in our backroom. We took that secret recipe to Cazenovia Lodge upon the completion of our consolidation. It was decided by a unanimous vote of the Lodge, under the leadership of our Worshipful Master, John Becker, to enter this mysterious recipe in the annual Chilly Chili cookoff held at Cazenovia College. The secret recipe was held in such high veneration by the judge panel that “Masonic Mayhem” brought home the coveted trophy! The competition was fierce, beating the local favorites of Ray Brothers BBQ, Brewster Inn,and The Lincklaen House. The coveted recipe will now be stored in the archives of Cazenovia Lodge for future generations.
